ME & Me October Challenge

Hello! Mama Elephant is celebrating their 2nd anniversary and their Challenge for this month is a fun "ANYTHING GOES!".

I have a friend that's getting married in a couple of weeks time and I wanted to use the awfully cute Pandamonium set so here is my card for them. The sentiment is from Bountiful Blessings and the heart balloons are from the Party Kit Creative Cuts. Thanks for looking!

Reverse Confetti September Color Challenge

Hello! It's almost month end and time to put in my card for the Reverse Confetti September Color Challenge. Unfortunately this is the last Color Challenge but fret not! RC will have some fabulous sketches for us to try out in their Sketch Challenge!

This month's Color Challenge is on Pink, Gray and Yellow.

I used the circle from Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts for my balloon, and stamped it with the orange stamp from Fresh 'n Fruity. I also used the dies from Tag Me Too Confetti Cuts and Love Notes Confetti Cuts.

There's still a couple more days if you're interested to join in!

ME & Me September Challenge

It was the school holidays last week so we scooted off to "rainy" Phuket for a quick break! The weather wasn't all great but luckily we had a couple of days of sun and the kids and hubby got to play some tennis with Coach Nash over at Marriott. He's 63 but he is so fit and such a nice person so it was a joy to have had some time with him! Since I don't play tennis, I had some time to go over and catch up on the lessons in Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes. I used a couple of the techniques for this card - the mirror image and word art stenciling.

First, a little about this month's challenge by ME & Me!
The theme is Paper Piecing and Thanks.

It's my first time doing paper piecing so it took me a little while to cut those cuties from Up and Away! The sentiment is from Type It.

Thanks for looking!

Reverse Confetti August Color Challenge

Yay! I'm so happy I got my 'Fetti stamps and dies in the post a couple of days ago! Thanks Jen!! I love all of them!

So I was glad I still had time to play for this month's color challenge which was to use Navy, Red and Gold.

This is my card for the challenge. I used Tag Me, Too Confetti Cuts, Class Acts Confetti Cuts, Love Note Confetti Cuts and the sentiment is from All About You. I wanted to make circles with the gold thread but ended up tying it round the hearts instead, so much easier!

Thanks for looking!

Mama Elephant & Me August Challange

I had so much fun playing with the first card, I couldn't resist whipping up another one. This time I used the stamps from ME's Fair Feathers. I must admit that the first time I stamped the ink bottle, I put a little too much water on the stamped image that the ink bottle completely lost it's shape so all I could see was a brown blob. So I had to go in and stamp it again. Luckily it didn't turn out too badly I think.. The feather, sentiment and the little ink splats are all from the same stamp set. I'm liking the multi-colored hemp string that came with the Make It Market Kit (Papertreyink) so I had to use it along with the water droplets.
If you'd like to take part in the Mama Elephant + Me August Challenge (Water Coloring + Birthdays), you can find out all about it here.

Till next time...

Sweet Havana Birthday Card

Hello again! I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in last month's Mama Elephant & Me challenge that I was all set for August's challenge. This month's challenge is all about Water Coloring + Birthdays - you can see some of the lovely cards that the DT girls whipped up here. I used 2 sets of stamps for my first card. I stamped the stripes from Basic Borders in Ocean (Creative Color - also from ME) on watercolor paper and smudged up the lines a bit. I also used some of the ink to fill up the white spaces in between. Once that was done, I die cut it using the scallop frame from Femme Frames. I also stamped and die cut several of the images and the banner sentiment from Sweet Havana in different colors on canvas paper and put them altogether. I used a white pen to put some of the little dots on the flower bouquets.

Since I had all my stuff out in front of me, I thought I would just make another quick and easy one layer card. I used the beautiful Water Blooms set from Mama Elephant here.

Mama Elephant & Me Challenge

Hello, I can't believe it's been so long since my last post! I've been thinking of doing the challenge over at Mama Elephant & Me - I just love all their stamps! Since today is the last day for submission, I decided to make a simple one layer card.

Last night, my daughter was playing with sparklers in the garden and that gave me the idea for this card. I used So Breezy, Around We Go, Say What and Merry Greeting stamps.

Thanks for looking!

Stamp-A-Faire 2012 - Stamper's First Aid

Papertrey Ink has this stamping event going on and up first is this Stamper's First Aid submission. This is a card I did recently for a friend's wedding which is in a couple of weeks time. I think it can do with a little something to make it more interesting - perhaps one of the DTs can help me out here?

Make It Monday # 74: Stamping On Texture

For this week's MIM, I used PTI's Sunrise Impression Plate on white cardstock, and stamped it with the text from PTI's Background Basics: Hearts Stamp Set using Soft Stone. The "YOU" is from PTI's Wonderful Words Die Collection and the little diecut butterflies are from Bella! I mounted it on Sweet Blush Cardstock.

Make It Monday #73 - Stamping on Patterned Paper

I enjoyed making this card. I have a fair bit of scrap pieces lying around and decided to use this piece with circles and light neutral colors. The stamps are from the Beautiful Butterflies collection.

Wow, I can't believe my last post was back in 2009! Since then, I've set up my own little online shop (selling beautiful fabric - I really love all the designs!) and spending loads of time with the children, that I didn't have the time or the energy to do any crafting or scrapbooking. But I still yearned to do some crafting and recently came across Papertrey Ink. Oh my! Did I fall in love with their stamps, dies, inks, paper.. you name it - I love it! I got my first shipment a week ago, all very professionally packed and I was so impressed. So last night, I got down to making my first card for a wedding I'm attending tonight. I used the masking method by Betsy Veldman (she's so talented!) - so very easy to do and came up nicely with their Rosie Posie and Love & Marriage stamps. You can see a video of how Betsy uses the masking technique on Papertrey's blog. I also did a matching envelope with the same stamps... Now, I can't wait for my next shipment of their latest release stamps & dies! Till then.. Papertrey Inc stamps: Rosie Posie and Love & Marriage Papertrey Inc inks: Simply Chartruese, Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Dark Chocolate, True Black, Aqua Mist, and Fine Linen

Cherie Hearts

Ok, my piglets are gonna start school, or playgroup rather, at Cherie Hearts on Monday. DH and I have been looking at so so many nurseries and kindergartens for them. Chiltern House, a few Montessori schools, Kinderland, Pat's Schoolhouse, you name it, we've probably seen it. We couldn't quite agree on a couple of choices, either location or costs, so we'll put them in Cherie Hearts which is within walking distance for the meantime. I'm actually looking forward to the Mindchamps presentation next Saturday...I think it should be quite different from the rest of the schools we've seen so far. Enough about schools. Below is a layout of my piglets with their little cousin, Gideon, taken one Sunday after lunch at TMCC. They're simply adorable!
My m-i-l said Gideon looked like a cute little owl which kinda coincided with Label Tulip's May kit so I decided to use the feltie owl in the kit and call my LO "Owl (our) 3 Darlings".

I used October Afternoon's Katie paper, Crate Paper's Willow Die-Cut Paper, and Bazzil Cardstock, Prima's Flirty Felt Branch, Sassafras Chipboard First Place Stickers, and Perchers Felties, Petaloo's Mini Delphiniums in Mulberry, Jillibean Soup's Bean Brown Alpha Stickers, & Jenni Bowlin's Old School Alpha Minis Red. Last but not least, Label Tulip's Splat clear stamp - it's my favourite!

Yoyo Me Up!

I had great fun with Clover's yoyo maker yesterday! I used the extra small round yoyo maker and made 4 baby hair clips covered in pink ribbon and a tiny pink pearl to top it off. I'm looking forward to try the heart  and flower shapes next!

A Fine Day

Woohoo! PageMaps has a BasicGrey giveaway in their latest contest based on the sketch below. The Lemonade and June Bug collections look so totally yummy...I would love some of that!

Here's my take on the sketch.

I used Kraft Kuts Pink Forest, American Crafts Humpty Dumpty, and Pink Paislee's Adorable patterned papers, American Thickers, Maya Road trinkets, Pink Paislee's Fetching chipboard, Hambly kraft cardstock stickers, and the colourful stripe at the bottom is actually part of the packaging from a KI Memories scrapbook gift tin. Another recycled product I used was the back of the label of the Kraft Kuts pp and I layered the ribbon on top of it. TFL!

Lucky Me!

I did this a while back. It's a scraplift by Andrea Friebus featured in Memory Makers Nov/Dec 2008 magazine. Her journalling was so heartwarming that I used it on my layout as well. It reads: Luck is unpredictable, uncertain, unknown. But everyday I look at you and I think to myself how wonderful, incredible, and amazing it is be your mommy. And I say to myself, lucky me! Sarah and Joshua were about 6 months old in the pic getting ready to go for their swim.

Red Rose

This is a little something I made for a relative who has a collection of ribbons. It's a ribbon holder from Kaiser. I painted it using Camouflage Chalkboard Paint, and added Black River's patterned papers, some lace, and flowers from Prima. I absolutely love the red rose from Prima!

Arab Street

What a hot day! Just got back from wandering around Arab Street and checking out the fabric and beads shops there.

I didn't buy any fabric but I did buy ribbons (lots!) and little flower and butterfly embellishments.

Hoping to make some really cute hair clips using them...it looked real easy on You Tube.
Guess we'll see!

IB Submission

I'm so excited! This is my first designer call submission! I've been following all their lovely sketches for the past 4 months and I've been inspired by their wonderful LOs. Crossing my fingers...and here's my take based on the sketch given.
