Stamp-A-Faire 2012 - Stamper's First Aid

Papertrey Ink has this stamping event going on and up first is this Stamper's First Aid submission. This is a card I did recently for a friend's wedding which is in a couple of weeks time. I think it can do with a little something to make it more interesting - perhaps one of the DTs can help me out here?

Make It Monday # 74: Stamping On Texture

For this week's MIM, I used PTI's Sunrise Impression Plate on white cardstock, and stamped it with the text from PTI's Background Basics: Hearts Stamp Set using Soft Stone. The "YOU" is from PTI's Wonderful Words Die Collection and the little diecut butterflies are from Bella! I mounted it on Sweet Blush Cardstock.

Make It Monday #73 - Stamping on Patterned Paper

I enjoyed making this card. I have a fair bit of scrap pieces lying around and decided to use this piece with circles and light neutral colors. The stamps are from the Beautiful Butterflies collection.

Wow, I can't believe my last post was back in 2009! Since then, I've set up my own little online shop (selling beautiful fabric - I really love all the designs!) and spending loads of time with the children, that I didn't have the time or the energy to do any crafting or scrapbooking. But I still yearned to do some crafting and recently came across Papertrey Ink. Oh my! Did I fall in love with their stamps, dies, inks, paper.. you name it - I love it! I got my first shipment a week ago, all very professionally packed and I was so impressed. So last night, I got down to making my first card for a wedding I'm attending tonight. I used the masking method by Betsy Veldman (she's so talented!) - so very easy to do and came up nicely with their Rosie Posie and Love & Marriage stamps. You can see a video of how Betsy uses the masking technique on Papertrey's blog. I also did a matching envelope with the same stamps... Now, I can't wait for my next shipment of their latest release stamps & dies! Till then.. Papertrey Inc stamps: Rosie Posie and Love & Marriage Papertrey Inc inks: Simply Chartruese, Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Dark Chocolate, True Black, Aqua Mist, and Fine Linen

Cherie Hearts

Ok, my piglets are gonna start school, or playgroup rather, at Cherie Hearts on Monday. DH and I have been looking at so so many nurseries and kindergartens for them. Chiltern House, a few Montessori schools, Kinderland, Pat's Schoolhouse, you name it, we've probably seen it. We couldn't quite agree on a couple of choices, either location or costs, so we'll put them in Cherie Hearts which is within walking distance for the meantime. I'm actually looking forward to the Mindchamps presentation next Saturday...I think it should be quite different from the rest of the schools we've seen so far. Enough about schools. Below is a layout of my piglets with their little cousin, Gideon, taken one Sunday after lunch at TMCC. They're simply adorable!
My m-i-l said Gideon looked like a cute little owl which kinda coincided with Label Tulip's May kit so I decided to use the feltie owl in the kit and call my LO "Owl (our) 3 Darlings".

I used October Afternoon's Katie paper, Crate Paper's Willow Die-Cut Paper, and Bazzil Cardstock, Prima's Flirty Felt Branch, Sassafras Chipboard First Place Stickers, and Perchers Felties, Petaloo's Mini Delphiniums in Mulberry, Jillibean Soup's Bean Brown Alpha Stickers, & Jenni Bowlin's Old School Alpha Minis Red. Last but not least, Label Tulip's Splat clear stamp - it's my favourite!

Yoyo Me Up!

I had great fun with Clover's yoyo maker yesterday! I used the extra small round yoyo maker and made 4 baby hair clips covered in pink ribbon and a tiny pink pearl to top it off. I'm looking forward to try the heart  and flower shapes next!

A Fine Day

Woohoo! PageMaps has a BasicGrey giveaway in their latest contest based on the sketch below. The Lemonade and June Bug collections look so totally yummy...I would love some of that!

Here's my take on the sketch.

I used Kraft Kuts Pink Forest, American Crafts Humpty Dumpty, and Pink Paislee's Adorable patterned papers, American Thickers, Maya Road trinkets, Pink Paislee's Fetching chipboard, Hambly kraft cardstock stickers, and the colourful stripe at the bottom is actually part of the packaging from a KI Memories scrapbook gift tin. Another recycled product I used was the back of the label of the Kraft Kuts pp and I layered the ribbon on top of it. TFL!
